Part-time Receptionist

We are a small boutique English center focused on meeting individual needs for those who are learning English to further their career, to be successful at school, or to communicate with friends from around the world.

Job Description: Receptionist (PT)

The goal for this position is to help us keep our center operating smoothly by welcoming visitors to our center; assisting in communicating with parents, students, and teachers; and keeping the lobby and classrooms tidy and safe.

The successful candidate will receive regular guidance and training, work in a professional yet friendly environment, strengthen their professional English communication skills, and have opportunities to participate in the center’s activities and special events.

This position will begin at 12-20 hours per week and will report to our Enrollment and Communications Manager. We are looking for a friendly person who is organized and dependable and speaks at least conversational English. This position is suitable for a current student or recent graduate. We are hoping to fill this position immediately.

Specific Tasks:

  • ·Greet students, parents, and visitors when they arrive

  • Monitor lobby and front door as students enter and exit the building to ensure student safety and take attendance

  • ·Answer phone, email, social media enquiries

  • Receive and track cash payments

  • Schedule intro meetings and assessment tests for new students

  • Assist with English to Vietnamese translation to facilitate communication between parents and teachers

  • ·Assist with stocking office supplies and maintaining office tidiness

  • Make copies of lessons, flashcards, etc. (communicating with teachers about needs)

  • Assist with planning and hosting of events–cultural activities, service projects, parents meetings, etc.

  • Occasionally assist teachers in the classroom

  • Run errands, as necessary
